Grand Canyon University can help you take your college experience to a higher level. Not only can you sharpen job-related skills, but you can also participate in Christian worship, community outreach and more. GCU offers various events and activities focused on technology, engineering and math (STEM) that promote hands-on learning and the exploration of careers in STEM. These organizations and events complement rigorous classroom teaching and can teach you how to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.

On-Campus Facilities
To support our growing number of STEM students, GCU has opened the doors to an 84,105 square-foot STEM classroom building and a 162,653 square-foot engineering building, featuring high-tech equipment and shops. As of Fall 2022, GCU’s technology building houses the Cyber Center of Excellence, a 2,000+ square foot cyber range.
We are proud to offer more than 21 labs used for scheduled classes and nine additional labs used by students outside of their scheduled classes to experience hands-on learning using advanced technologies and tools to serve a real purpose in the world. You can access these labs from day one as a freshman, giving you an opportunity to bring your ideas to life. Here are just a few of our dynamic technology and engineering resources and workspaces.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab
At the Intelligent Systems Laboratory, our mission is to advance the frontier of intelligent systems research, innovation and application. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and technology, we aim to contribute to the development of intelligent systems that can enhance human capabilities, solve complex problems and drive societal progress.
Mechanical Materials Lab
Determine material properties for appropriate design selections by testing, analyzing and evaluating different materials.
Transport Phenomena Lab
Focus is placed on utilizing a piping system, including fluid flow, heat transfer and mass transfer, in this lab.
Virtual Reality (VR) Lab
Delve into the exciting realm of virtual and augmented reality technologies, such as Microsoft HoloLens and Meta (Oculus) Quest, as well as smart glasses. Utilize supporting technologies including 3D printers, microcontrollers and single-board computers like the Raspberry Pi. These resources open up a world of possibilities for you to create innovative applications and projects. Work with industry leaders who can offer you exclusive opportunities to collaborate on projects and gain practical experience in the field.
